Aurora's reservoirs have some of the best water around and have grown four state record fish: tiger muskie, catfish, smallmouth bass and white sucker. Both Aurora and Quincy Reservoirs are stocked by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. 

Bait: All types of bait can be used at Aurora Reservoir. For live aquatic bait you must have a receipt no more than 7 days old. 

Bag and Possession Limits:

2 - Trout any size
5 - Walleye 18 inches or longer (only one (1) Walleye longer than 21" can be taken per day)
5 - Largemouth Bass / Smallmouth Bass 15 inches or longer (in aggregate)
10 - Wiper
20 - Crappie
10 - Channel/Blue Catfish
20 - Yellow Perch

Directions: From Quincy Avenue and E470 or Gun Club Road, head east on Quincy Avenue two miles to South Powhaton Road. Take a right on Powhaton Road and head south to the park.

Boating at Aurora Reservoir

• Boating season starts once the ice has thawed (mid to late March) and ends November 30.

• No gas motors. Non-motorized vessels or electric motors ONLY.

• All portable gas tanks must be removed prior to launching.

• Boat ramp is available during the season.

• Boat moorings and dry storage available.

• Any vessel that contains a compartment capable of holding water OR any vessel launched or landed via a trailer which enters the water will require a Watercraft Access Pass and must go through boat inspection.

• When required, the Watercraft Access Pass (WAP) must be purchased annually for $10. It must be permanently affixed to the vehicle towing the vessel or on the vessel itself.

 

Boating at Quincy Reservoir

Quincy Reservoir boasts 160 acres of water surface that is well known by metro anglers for trout, largemouth bass, perch and crappie. In March through October, fishing is allowed with artificial flies and lures only. This provides a different, challenging experience for anglers, while also reducing fish mortality rates and allowing better management of this unique resource.

Quincy Reservoir is a part of the city of Aurora’s drinking water supply. Water fluctuations are common and variable from season to season and year to year. Special rules and regulations are in place to protect this unique resource. Dogs and pets are prohibited.

• Quincy Reservoir is open March 1 to Oct. 31.
